Installation and Setup

Installation

1. Download the installer program and run it.
2. Choose a directory to unpack the files.
3. Run the executable "santaslist.exe".
4. That's it! Enjoy.
5. To uninstall the program, just delete the directory in which you unpacked it

Email Setup

1. In the simplest setup, you only need to type in the SMTP server for your internet connection.
2. We also recommend that you also type in your Name and Login, which is in most cases your email address.
3. If you're on a broadband connection and you're using your ISP's SMTP servers, rarely will you need to put in your password. The ISP's servers will authenticate your computer via its IP address rather than by your login and password. In fact, in most cases, you can put in an email that is not provided by your ISP and still be able to relay email through their servers.
4. After typing in all the information, make sure you at least test your settings once before proceeding on to typing in the participants names and emails.
5. After hitting the "Test email settings" button, check your email box (of the email you designated as the originating email via the "Login" box), for the test email. If you see the test email in your mailbox, then you're all set to continue. Sometimes this may take a few minutes for the mail servers to send and receive the mail.
6. Type in the participants names and emails and configure the text of the main bulk email. If the coordinator also wants to be part of the game, s/he MUST add his/her name to the participant email list!
7. Hit "Send" and "Continue" and wait until the status bar in the lower left of the main window stops saying "Sending email" before you close the main window.
8. Check with all your players to see if they've received their designations as a failsafe to ensure everyone has been notified.
9. Go shopping and enjoy your Secret Santa game.
